My last devID didn't really look anything like me, so I decided to change that by making this devID look even less like me. Behold! Myself ponified!

Some of you may recognize that I used :iconvalleyviolet:'s pony pattern. For those of you who do not, Valley Violet is a sewing wizard of exceptional skill. After much experimentation, she discovered one of the finest pony sewing patterns in existence. However, instead of hording her secrets away in her sewing cave, she noticed all of her fans throwing money at their computer screens and decided she would trade their monetary ejections for the pony pattern she created. Now she is filling her sewing cave with delicious, delicious, well-earned coin.

So, I strongly urge all of you to check out her gallery, and if you find yourself throwing your money at your own computer screen, your thirst for pony pattern can be quenched by purchasing her pattern here.

Don't worry too much about your sewing skills; her instructions are excellent. I haven't done much sewing in the past nine years, and after watching a YouTube video on sewing darts and fiddling about with my sewing machine for about a half of an hour, trying to figure out how to string it up, put it in gear, replace the bobbin, and not kill myself, I was makin' ponies like a pro.

Those of you that do recognize the pattern may also know that only the body, made from the holey remnants of my favourite pair of jeans, used Valley Violet's pattern. The eyes and cutie mark are all me, made from felt and glue. The hair is brushed wool, and the hat it made from felt as well.

As for the design, she was loosely based off of my previous devID, hence the blue body and orange hat. Her code name during development was "Rastamuffin", due to her wool hair looking a little like dreadlocks until I brushed it out a little more. (It still kind of looks a little like dreadlocks.) Her cutie mark is my pair of sewing scissors, a styling toothbrush (toothbrushes are red), and a mana crystal, useless to her since she's a unicorn. (Unicorn horns act like mana "funnels", effectively mana crystals with an unlimited supply of mana.)

Anyway, this was the combination of the two projects (new devID and stuffed pony) I wanted to complete before starting the next tutorial, so expect some good styling news popping up soon.

Oh, and if you have any questions regarding how I did her eyes, hat, cutie mark, hair, or any general questions regarding the use of Valley Violet's pattern, feel free to leave them in the comment section below.

A link to the pattern can be found in the description. You have to pay for it, but I think the pattern is worth every penny. I know beans all about sewing, but if you can figure out how to operate a sewing machine and google videos of people showing you how to sew darts, this pattern is all you need to make some rad lookin' ponies.

Since you mentioned it in the description: How exactly did you do the eyes? XD

I took a screen cap of one of the episodes when Twilight was turned perpendicular to the camera and made a vector of her eye with a different iris colour in Inkscape. I then resized the vector to the appropriate size, scattered the pieces all over the page, and printed it out onto a regular piece of paper. All I had to do then was cut out the pieces, trace them onto the felt with a pen, cut the felt out, and glue the pieces together and onto the pony with a hot glue gun.

You could probably even skip the vector making part if you wanted to. Just printing off a good picture of a pony with the eye shape you'd like, resized to the appropriate size, would probably work about as well.
